Add Value to Your Web Business with Video Chat Software

?

Added value to an online business can be easily achieved by the addition of video chat software; video chat software, which delivers high quality images and sound quality to end-users at their computers and/or workstations, is good for business and good for end-user consumers. Two-way video chat software has been around for some time; certainly, it has been available since the middle of the ?80s, although it was in use mainly between academics and students, and required fast network connections to work effectively.

It wasn?t until the rapid rise in fast Internet connections from the middle of the ?90s onwards, combined with the rapid commercialization of the Internet, that video streaming software and interactive chat software came of age. Although streaming media has been with us for almost a century, in the form of radio and, subsequently, television transmissions over the airwaves, online streaming media is a relatively new innovation.

To differentiate between streaming media, the term ?streaming? is only used when the delivery method is by way of the telecoms system ? that is to say, it includes at least two elements of the following items in the list:

? Backbone channels
? Telecoms hubs
? Local loops

As the efficiency of these local and wide-area distribution systems have improved, so, too, has the media quality improved at the delivery end. The major backbone links and hubs seldom had issue with carrying the encoded data in a streaming video signal; it was mainly the local delivery in the last mile which caused the issues. As telecoms companies worldwide have consistently been upgrading their networks to accept higher volumes of data transmission, so, too, has the delivery quality improved at the consumer end.

There are four main elements required in the delivery of quality streaming video with synchronized sound, all of which are listed below:

? A camera unit
? An encoder for digitizing the content
? A media publisher application or host
? A content delivery network to enable distribution and delivery to end users

Enhanced packet data security, combined with the elimination of many of the issues which were caused by protocol and transmission interruption, has seen an exponential rise in the number of online businesses using live streaming as a method of interaction with their end-user consumer clients. As network and comms systems, together with user hardware and delivery systems, improve in quality and efficiency, the future of interactive video streaming appears to be assured.

However, there are few companies which develop and market effective live video chat software like ModenaCam; peer-to-peer direct streaming with inherent controls and parameters adds value to websites and online businesses where end-user interaction is a predominant element of the service.
